Lessons life taught me

imagesHello my wonderful community, It’s been a while. I have been quite busy with other ventures am trying my hands on (jack of all trade, mastering all). I came across these wonderful write up from masters and captains in there various fields of endeavors, how they got to where they are and what life taught them that cannot be learnt in any classroom. Here are some of the lessons

In life when given a choice between a job and a business, choose business because business will bring more money than wages. Jack Ma, the richest man in China said “if you offer a monkey Money and banana, he will pick banana not realizing that money can buy more bananas”

We spend so much time in school learning to work for wages but we are not trained to recognize entrepreneurship opportunities, which is the bedrock of success. Profit is better than wages as it can bring you fortunes but wages can only earn you a living —-Robert Kiyosaki, author rich dad, poor dad.

A professor at a local university in Kenya told this to his fresh students during their orientation class:

Graduating as the best student in Finance does not mean you will be richer than the others, being the best law student does not make you the best lawyer. School will reward you for your memory but life will reward you for your imaginations and actions, school reward caution, life reward daring, education rewards those who respect the rules but life rewards those who break rules and set new ones.

Does that mean people should not study or work hard, no but do not limit yourself to the classroom, be practical and take risks. Start a business and fail, you will learn things Entrepreneurship 101 cannot teach, contest an election and loss, You will learn lessons Political science 101 will not teach you.

Develop yourself as much as possible, read books outside the scope of what you know, attend seminars,  win a soul for God, do something you believe in, think more about becoming a better person and less of becoming an excellent student. Try your hands on new things and diversify your income. Remember this; Entrepreneurship is the spice of life, be one.

Hummmm! these are words on marble and he that have ear, should listen. I hope this will keep ringing in your ears and prompt you to leave your safe and comfort zone to take risk and be daring. Enjoy your weekend
