Today we celebrate the women in our lives for without women I can’t imagine what the world would look like. There is always a woman in your life, either as a mother, a sister, a wife, a daughter or a friend. I will be doing a 3 series write up on Be Bold for Change. Please join me on the ride.
When I was told last night I will be representing my boss for an award at the NECA house today for the International omen’s day given by International Chamber of Commerce Nigeria and NECA Network of entrepreneurial Women (NNEW) I felt a little sad because I will be missing out of the celebration in the office.
As the saying goes, good things come in disguise. I must confess, it was the best outing I have had in a while. I learnt quiet a lot. In this frist write up i will be talking about removing limitations and breaking barriers. How do you do that, keep moving, never stop for any reason, when you fall down, get up dust yourself and keep moving, the fact that you failed at the first attempt does not mean the death of that endeavor. Success is an accumulation of many failures. When one road is closed, look for other alternatives that will take you to the same destination, after all many roads lead to the market. Never compare yourself with anybody, work on your weaknesses and leverage on your strength. Remember in the school of life we all have different test scripts. How and when you get is not as important as getting there strong and better. Keep these golden rules in mind: I called them the 8 Ps of success
- Be purposeful: live a live of purpose
- Be prepared: Preparation + Planning = success
- Be proactive: take bold steps and think ahead
- Be Patient: Don’t give up at the first trial
- Be persistent: Keep trying, when you fail, nerve give up
- Persevere: Endurance is the soul to success
- Be Practical: Ensure that your ideas are realistic
- Be prayerful: With God success is assured.
To all my super stars out there mothers, sisters, wives, daughters and friends, the time has come for us to quit the old ways of doing things and drop that complacent attitude and dare to be amazons, Icons and role models. Remember we are not competing with our fathers, husbands and brothers no they are the high priest of our homes, we should love respect and care for them so they can support our dreams and vision. Our greatest competition is us and that is the barrier we need to remove. Be bold, be courageous and go for it.
Keep this in mind, when life throws you a lemon, make a lemonade with it.
In my next write up Be Bold for Change II: I will be sharing on Waking the giant in you.
Please share with us your stories and comments.
